Methods

There are three ways to order products from Van Ness:

Online Ordering - To place your order via this website, simply browse through the catalog web pages and add your items to the shopping cart. You may view your shopping cart to check on what items you have selected and check-out to complete your order. (Please note that there is a minimum order total of $20.00 for online check-outs)

Phone Orders - Place your order directly to us by calling (800) 205-2425.

Postage, Handling and Other Charges

All catalog prices (unless otherwise noted) include ground shipping. All other methods will be charged to client. Within the continental United States, UPS and USPS will make most shipments. Street addresses are needed. Shipments can be made by Priority USPS, 2nd Day UPS, Next Day UPS,Federal Express, and Air Freight. For shipments out of the continental USA, method for transportation is at VNWG discretion. Unusual methods of shipping are billed at cost, plus handling. If you have a shipper I.D. number you want to use, please notify our Order Processing Department.

You may wish to order supplies sent first with plants following. Re-shipment of refused or returned merchandise is subject to a 15% surcharge. California residents must add 7-1/2% sales tax. Shipping charges are not refundable. Shipments other than UPS or USPS will be F.O.B. Upland plus a $9.00 destination handling charge. Next Day, 2nd Day Air or 3rd day postage and handling is figured by weight.

Air Freight

All Air Freight shipments are sent “Freight Collect.” (You will pay the shipping charges at the time you pick up the order at the airport.) Add $40.00 for delivery fee and also your telephone number, name of nearest airport and airline preference, if any.

Out of Country Shipments

Foreign orders must include $40.00 fee for export paperwork (U.S. Dollars only). Also add $20.00 plus exact postage per box. Check with your Dept. of Agriculture. They may require an import permit. All out of country shipments will be shipped via our customs broker unless otherwise specified. Client will pay broker and handling fees.

Hawaii

All Hawaiian plant orders must be shipped UPS Next Day or Priority Mail. Orders will be charged postage and handling fees by weight.

Shipping Dates

On receipt of your order shipping dates will be determined by type of plants ordered and your location. For rush orders add 10% or $5.00 minimum. Specially requested shipping dates must be in writing - add an additional 10% surcharge for this service. You are urged to place your orders early, as these orders will be shipped first at the appropriate time. If unusual weather conditions exist, your order may be held 1-2 weeks beyond the scheduled shipping date. You will be notified of the week they will be shipped. Generally, hardy lilies are sent year-round and tropical lilies beginning in May to the warmest climate areas. Orders that arrive during peak season (April, May and June) will have to be worked in and may not be shipped immediately. If you place an order prior to January 1st, for shipment during the following year, please state that you do not want the order shipped until the appropriate planting time the next season.

Terms

There is a $ 20.00 minimum on each order (orders under $20.00 will not be accepted). Make checks or money orders payable to VAN NESS WATER GARDENS. MasterCard, VISA, American Express and Discover are accepted and your name and address as it appears on your bankcard / credit card account, your full account number and expiration date are needed.

Limited Guarantee

The VNWG guarantees its plants to be true in name, viable, and healthy at time of shipping. All warranties are void if fertilizers or chemicals other than those recommended by VNWG are used. Request for replacements must be received within 90 days. There will be no refunds or substitutions on returned plants. Only one replacement per return will be given. All plants are guaranteed true to color after the 5th bloom using our fertilizer only. The color is warranted for 4 months from purchase date. Plants shipped out of season as per client request voids guarantee. Returns must be within 30 days. All returns are subject to 15% restocking fee.
